Nordic Seaweed Conference 2016

Seaweed researchers, companies and enthusiasts from 9 different countries gathered for the 6th time in Grenaa, Denmark for the Nordic Seaweed Conference the 12th - 13th of October 2016.


This year the conference started off with a special focus on seaweed in feed - a subject which was opened by professorJohn O'Doherty, University College Dublin and his research on health benefits of seaweed in feed for piglets.


After a number of interesting talks on feed and also pretreatment a poster session followed. Networking was carried out while different tastes such as pesto, icecream and bread with seaweed were enjoyed. The second day of the conference started with a field trip to the producer of food products with seaweed in Grenaa - Nordisk Tang.



The people behind Nordisk Tang met at the Nordic Seaweed Conference in 2013 and since then they have established a succesful company with gastronomic delights which they sell in Denmark and export to eg. Germany and the US.
